Motivational Course for Standard 6 students

Assalamualaikum,

One of our member's spouse is a teacher at SK Tengku Bendahara Azman (2), who gave us an idea to give a motivational course to the Standard 6 students. This is as one of the preparation for them to face the coming UPSR exam which is scheduled in September.

The principal and the PTA were delighted to hear our proposal and agreed to give a full support. A meeting has been set and 15th of March has been agreed to conduct the course.

The mission of the course are to boost the students' morale in facing the big exam, and to make them aware the importance of education in their life.

Started early at 8 am, after the principal officiated the program, the students were then given a brief introduction on the course before being divided into 6 groups. Each group will be mentored by a pair of facilitators.

After divided into several groups, each group was asked to do a group activity, and do a presentation about it. This activity encourage them to give a talk in public, build them a confidence, and motivate them to speak about their ambition and expectation, and what have to be done to achieve it. All this can be achieved with the right way, and the right attitude, plus confidence in oneself.

The activity was then continued with a paper airplane competition. The winner will be judged by the longest distance travel by an airplane and also the longest time in the air by an airplane. The activity was developed to encourage the students to involve in a competition, to be competitive and have a desire to win.

The activity took a break in the afternoon for lunch and solat, before continued with a motivational talk by the facilitators. In general the students were briefed on how success belong to those who strive to achieve, regardless their background. The most important thing is to identify the right way to achieve, with the right attitude, plus pray to God and tawakal.

We wrapped up everything at 4:00 pm with the closing ceremony by the principal.

Jazakallah. If you are interested in contributing, please do not hesitate to contact us via email, or drop a message in the comment section.
